The fox hunt 03:12
1st Verse: It’s nearly dawn on a November morn In the sky the clouds are grey A fox crawls in from her nightly prowl With food to last the day She’s tired, wet and hungry too She starts upon the feast Then nose to tail she sleeps a while And the sun rises in the east Chorus: And death is always close at hand One day she will be gone And in a world where people care The fox hunt still goes on 2nd Verse See the huntsmen riding by Mounted on their handsome steeds They’re waiting with their hounds until They do the dirty deed With the hunting cry and horns ablast Through fields they make their way The hares run scared, the birds take flight Will the fox live another day? 3rd Verse: The fox runs out in a panic now She leaves the den behind The hounds have scented on her trail To all else now they are blind The hunt slows up, they cross a stream The hounds must get their blood The horses go where they are told Far along the tracks of mud 4th Verse: The fox runs slower, tiring now The hounds are closer still She stands no chance against the pack They go in for the kill The cruel huntsmen lead their dogs Back home with a tale to tell A fellow fox finds the body there A shrill howl sounds the knell Final Chorus: And death is always close at hand For now she’s gone And in a world where people care The fox hunt still goes on

Down by the river, down where the boats go It’s like a dream I had, down by the river Slowly the water is flowing Down by the river, down by the river I heard you calling, I could not wait, though I had to free my soul, and run down there Down by the river, down by the river Where all boat people go Seagulls may cry, swans may pass by But thoughts they cannot disturb Current is fast, tide is high Now its source reaches the sea Still waters run deep, still waters run deep Down by the river, down where the boats go It’s like a dream I had, down by the river Slowly the sailors come in to land Mooring their yachts in, the crew and the captain As I walk the pathway, as evening is falling I hear a familiar cry calling me home Down by the river, down by the river Where all boat people go  2000 Copyright Jaquie Daniels

On cold winter mornings I feel like this The biting cold air is like stealing a kiss The crimson sky is like the warmth of your smile And the rush of the wind reminds me How much I like your style I’m reeling, I’m reeling And I’m drowning in this feeling OH I GET CARRIED AWAY BY THE SMELL OF OBSESSION IT’S LEADING MY HEART AWAY TO A NEW EXPRESSION (Repeat) On silent summer evenings I hear your sighs Like a whisper and a promise, how my heart flies The starlit sky is like your fingers running down my back Moving me, moving me It’s a love attack I’m reeling, I’m reeling And I’m drowning in this feeling OH I GET CARRIED AWAY BY THE SMELL OF OBSESSION IT’S LEADING MY HEART AWAY TO A NEW EXPRESSION (Repeat) It’s you, the things you do and the things you say It’s you, you know it’s true, you get your way ‘Cos I let ya Repeat Chorus  Copyright Jaquie Daniels

You won’t get dressed, you lounge around You say that life has worn you down The silence builds, you’re half asleep That orange juice stain won’t make you creep Chorus: OH-WOH, THESE ARE YOUR TELLTALE SIGNS YEH YEH, THESE ARE YOUR TELLTALE SIGNS You haven’t shaved, you’re looking mellow My dress is green, you say it’s yellow You mumble low, you pick a fight I know it’s day, you say it’s night Repeat Chorus twice And then I find a scribbled note It says “I love you, baby” But when I ask if you’re gonna leave You shrug and just say “Maybe” You won’t say what brings you down Do you think I’ll always be around? I suppose you think you’re being cool Don’t treat me like a fool Repeat Chorus twice  Copyright by Jaquie Daniels

Afghanistan 02:47
Dear Mr Bush, you soon cast the blame When the Twin Towers fell and the terrorists came Will you succeed where the Russians have failed When you’ve been there twenty years Then you know you’ve been nailed Chorus: In Afghanistan (where will it end) Afghanistan (where will it end) Afghanistan (where will it end) In Afghanistan Dear Mr Blair, this war is in vain If you send out our troops on the rugged terrain As a good Catholic, I’m sure you agree That killing is wrong, love your enemy Repeat Chorus And Bin Laden is on the run And when he’s gone, who will have won? All of us pray that some time in our life There will be no more war or famine or strife For sixty long years of the last century The fighting went on causing more misery Repeat Chorus Copyright by Jaquie Daniels

From the first time that we spoke I sensed your gentle touch Your eyes were warm, your voice was light I never thought that it could mean so much From summer days to autumn nights I heard you talk of taverns where the real ale flows Old taverns and kin from the Emerald Isle I told you of my music, felt your trust in me And till we’d meet again I knew my heart would fly I’d go to work just dreaming of your gentle touch That talk of taverns, it made me smile Some goals in life take over and they mean so much Like the fight for Earth and songs in a different style I soon realised that I’d set my heart on you Life went on, but now and then I got that old familiar feeling That I’d lose my mind just waiting Till we’d meet again The winter nights draw in but I don’t see you This talk of taverns could bring me down I see you quoted in the local press, a clue Or is the call of duty keeping you from town? I know we can’t go back to summer days The Earth needs us, please think, my friend But most of all, I want you near me I need your touch, I’m lonely Till we meet again Till we meet again Till we meet again  Copyright Jaquie Daniels

Perfect days 03:12
Waking with the sunrise at the dawning of the day Through the window I can see the fresh sweet dew of May The birds fly off so swiftly till they vanish in the haze I lay back on my pillow and dream of perfect days I look to all the beauty that the sky and earth possess It bows its head and answers me with one resounding ‘Yes’ In the quiet morning air a symphony softly plays It fills my heart with gladness, for these are perfect days Sky of blue looking down upon the green land Ship of life sailing back to where we all stand Even if it’s cloudy I still feel that energy Flowing from the heart and soul of everyone I see Wherever we look in life there’s something we can praise As long as love is all around us, then these are perfect days Sky of blue looking down upon the green land Ship of life sailing back to where we all stand Even if it’s cloudy I still feel that energy Flowing from the heart and soul of everyone I see Wherever we look in life there’s something we can praise As long as love is all around us, then these are perfect days  Copyright Jaquie Daniels

Aching 18 03:11
A dark and handsome lad intrigued me I had the warmest glow Did he ever see me looking I really didn’t know At 17 and 6 months I knew my heart was set At 18 I was still hooked I hadn’t started yet Chorus: I was an aching 18 Fear stood in the way of desire Aching 18 Young heart on fire It was a life’s obsession Just to see that smile If I knew that he’d be somewhere I’d have walked a hundred miles But there was another Almost as shy as me A fair blue-eyed musician But it was just too late to be Repeat Chorus Life could have been so different But I could not let go Dreamers are not the best at living Though it seems so long ago Repeat Chorus © Copyright Jaquie Daniels
