What a day for a festival
The sun is beating down
My bag is packed, all set to go
There’s music to be found
Crowds are gathered, milling round
Performers bold and sappy
There’s music playing everywhere
And everybody’s happy
And the blue sky and the golden sun
Remind us all that we are one
Days like this live on
In our hearts forever
What a day for a festival
The rain is pouring down
Determined revellers dodge the raindrops
See what joy they’ve found
Let’s go and find a tasty meal
I want to make it snappy
We’ll keep on singing in the rain
And yes, we’re all still happy
And the grey sky and the hidden sun
Remind us all that we are one
Days like this live on
In our hearts forever
What a day for a festival
The evening’s hastening on
Some go home and some still linger
Partying, having fun
Spare a thought for those who work
And go on without being ratty
But for now the bands play on
And everybody’s happy
And the dark sky and the setting sun
Remind us all that we are one
Days like this live on
In our hearts forever
And the blue sky and the golden sun
Remind us all that we are one
Days like this live on
In our hearts forever
What a day for a festival
What a day for a festival
What a day for a festival

You’ve been crying such a long time
You know he ain’t ever coming back
Dry your eyes, see the sun up in the sky
One day you’ll have the happiness you lack
Chorus:
Suzyanna Bluesyanna
Don’t you shed another tear
No more sorrow while I’m here
Suzyanna Bluesyanna
Don’t you shed another tear
No more sorrow while I’m here
You never thought he was the cheating kind
That’s why you’re hurting, why you’re sad
But now that’s passed pick yourself up off the floor
You wouldn’t feel the good without the bad
Chorus:
Suzyanna Bluesyanna
Don’t you shed another tear
No more sorrow while I’m here
Suzyanna Bluesyanna
Don’t you shed another tear
No more sorrow while I’m here
So make some hopes and dreams for tomorrow
It don’t hurt to wear a smile for those who care
Soon you’ll find those blues will fade away
It’s time to brave the weather if you dare
Chorus:
Suzyanna Bluesyanna
Don’t you shed another tear
No more sorrow while I’m here
Suzyanna Bluesyanna
Don’t you shed another tear
No more sorrow while I’m here
Suzyanna Bluesyanna
Don’t you shed another tear
No more sorrow while I’m here

Zero hours

Today I’ll check my bank account to see if I got paid
From week to week I never know if the bread will be made
Working each bank holiday but there never seems enough
The choice is to heat or eat, oh times are getting rough
I could take a walk in the park
Watch the sunset on the hill
But these things won’t help me pay the bills
Chorus: And the rich are getting richer
While the poor get left behind
They say the economy’s growing
But there’s folks like me you’ll find
On zero hours, zero hours
Zero hours, zero hours
Today I'll see the landlord and try to buy some time
Get a payday loan, the interest rate should be a crime
If I could get a living wage I’d be at least half-way there
They call it flexible working but no-one seems to care
I could take a stroll up the street
And watch the children play
But that won’t take this emptiness away
Chorus: And the rich are getting richer
While the poor get left behind
They say the economy’s growing
But there’s folks like me you’ll find
On zero hours, zero hours
Zero hours, zero hours
Bridge: Will I get the strength to see
What my life could be
You just can’t be free
On zero hours, zero hours
Zero hours, zero hours
Chorus: And the rich are getting richer
While the poor get left behind
They say the economy’s growing
But there’s folks like me you’ll find
Oh the rich are getting richer
While the poor get left behind
They say the economy’s growing
But there’s folks like me you’ll find
Oh the rich are getting richer
While the poor get left behind
They say the economy’s growing
But I’m just doing time
On zero hours, zero hours
Zero hours, zero hours

Got no job, the rent’s overdue
The rain’s soaked by clothes right through
But I ain’t hungry, got a roof o’er my head
And the sky’s turned from grey to blue
Chorus:
Life is for living, not worrying about
It’s one of those things we all do
No matter how you’re feeling or how hard it gets
There’s always someone worse off than you
Another bill, money is tight
The bank won’t let the readies I need
But no credit card, can rely on my man
No kids to clothe and feed
Chorus:
Life is for living, not worrying about
It’s one of those things we all do
No matter how you’re feeling or how hard it gets
There’s always someone worse off than you
Turn on the TV, flick to the news
There’s trouble all over the world
But outside my door children shout for joy
And they see life unfurled
Chorus:
Life is for living, not worrying about
It’s one of those things we all do
No matter how you’re feeling or how hard it gets
There’s always someone worse off than you
Life is for living, not worrying about
It’s one of those things we all do
No matter how you’re feeling or how hard it gets
There’s always someone worse off than you
